Hi all! I ran across a link to this podcast somewhere else and thought some here might be interested in hearing this also:

Believe it or not, it is a radio program put out by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America. I was quite shocked (pleasantly) by the broadcast. The host was interviewing Philip Gulley, a Quaker minister and author. Even though our eschatology is not brought forward here, our ideas of grace and the love of God certainly are. I came away encouraged...

The ELCA is very open to things gracious. Mr. Gulley is the co-author of the book "If Grace is true?" a book dedicated to the universal love of God in Christ.
I know of a Quaker gentleman who used to be linked to my old site (now Barry's) named Dean Johnson, if memory serves me. He was definitely leaning toward fulfilled eschatology the last time I was in contact with him. I believe his site's name was "the Quaker Universalist," or something like that. I'll search....

I found Dean Johnson again. Here is an article that he wrote concerning preterism. When I met him via the web he was looking into preterism. As you can see, he pretty much has come to a simliar understanding as most of us.

I listened to a part of this yesterday and enjoyed it. Is it just me, or does Philip Gulley sound like a Winnie The Pooh character? Is it Pooh himself? The child in me found his voice quite soothing because of it - so I mean it as a compliment :).

I was impressed with his demeanor, and part of that could be attributed to his voice. I found it refreshing that he didn't come across as having something he must vehemently defend. Defensiveness belies something deeper, imo, almost like an uncertainty.

ed,
I sensed, as i read the article on preterist life, that the writer was painting a picture of what has been on my mind and heart for so long now. It's like 20/20 instantly after having blurred vision for many years! I had gone to preterist's sites before, but i guess i didn't get it. This writer put it in such a way that it brought peace to much of the angst and confusion of my heart and mind. I believe God has been drawing me to this end for all of my life, but in particular for the last seven to eight years. "We sometimes come to this realization of eternal oneness step by step, little by little, and revelation by revelation. It is a new divine perspective." This has been the definition of my life for the last several years! Not to go overboard, but "Free at last, free at last, thank God almighty, I'm free at last"! That describes my reality right now! Thanks ed!! By the way, your photo looks exactly like me when I was in my early thirties!
