Whether you agree with the guy or not, Obama can attribute his being able to run for President to King's vision and sacrifice, as well as others like Rosa Parks.

For god-loving and people-loving people, King's dream was for all.

Dr. King took that quote from the Declaration of Independence which says; “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”

During that time blacks had separate schools and were denied access to public facilities. They weren’t treated as equals to whites.
The dream belongs to all Us citizens but at that time it was not given to all.

i remember all the craziness well while growing up in the San Fran Bay Area in the early 60's.

It still saddens me to see, even with all the headway we've made, that peace among brothers (all us humans) is a long way off.

This sermon was one of the little stepping stones, I stumbled upon, about 7 years ago during a wonderful journey to the truth of God's love. When you learn to love your enemies... TRULY love them and not just love them in your mind, but love them in your HEART..this is when the Kingdom of God slowly, persistently becomes revealed. What you thought you KNEW about the Kingdom of God will fade and be replaced by the true picture as the glorious light of His magnificent love will absolutely STUN you. And you realize how and why every knee will most definitely bow. :clap2:

Oh God, help us in our lives and in all of our attitudes, to work out this controlling force of love, this controlling power that can solve every problem that we confront in all areas. Oh, we talk about politics; we talk about the problems facing our atomic civilization. Grant that all men will come together and discover that as we solve the crisis and solve these problems—the international problems, the problems of atomic energy, the problems of nuclear energy, and yes, even the race problem—let us join together in a great fellowship of love and bow down at the feet of Jesus. Give us this strong determination. In the name and spirit of this Christ, we pray. Amen.
