Throughout the new testament, hope is a central theme. The hope of Israels resurrection and the implications that had for the world at that time, but also to all of humanity.

Been thinking, is hope in this age, a good thing, especially in regards to personal growth.

When we hope for let's say "healing" or "transformation", or "awakening", etc; do we move from living in the now, and acceptance to

"i'm not good enough, I need to change, etc" always waiting/hoping for the "day of salvation",

or "hoping for the day my marriage is finally running smooth, or the day my kids quit doing drugs, or whatever it might be".

HOPE you all have some input. :)

Well I HOPE that more and more people start to see what the world already has because of Christ's redemptive work.

I also HOPE that I get offered a new job at Pine Rest as a Therapist, which would be about a 25%+ salary increase.

I also HOPE that my sons' babies come out healthy.

I also HOPE that someday I can meet all of you in person.

I also HOPE that I can afford to buy new shoes soon.

well, that's enough hope for tonight. If Obama's elected, we'll have more hope than we can afford. If McCain is elected, there may be no hope. Anyone know of an island for sale?

Hey Ed there's a big island just to the left of you guys and downunder a bit... they do sell bits of it :9_cool:.

As for HOPE... so much "hope" these days is the "hope-so" kind out in the never-never, whereas that referred to in the bible was more that of an expected solid assurance.

Yes, I think that is a good point - the hope expressed in the NT was of a differing character to that which we speak today. Even my hopes listed in my "litany of hope" doesn't even come close to that hope which was the firstfruits promise in Christ.

Oh, I'd love to visit there sometime, but I just read something tonight that gave me concern about actually living in Australia - no offense. But it would seem that your government isn't much better than ours at recognizing individual freedom and responsibility. Again, no offense...

Oh, I referred to you in a post at PP tonight, and in my goofiness, I called you "my dear little Aussie friend, the furry fella that he is" meaning your Alf avatar. Hope you can see through my humo(u)r.

Boy, am I giddy tonight or what?

I hope that humanity can see the reality of their God given potential.
