I have to say it. Dreamer, with Kurt Russell, is now my all time favorite movie. Without a doubt, it is an inspiring film. There is no killing, no sex, no nudity, and only 5 cuss words, including 3 damns (uttered by Kris Kristofferson) and two hells (uttered by Mr. Russell). In spite of this lack of modern American culture, the script is superb and the acting, well...Kurt Russell, Dakota Fanning, Elisabeth Shue, David Morse (of TV's Hack) and Luis Guizman...need I say more.
To see a movie in which a child, a father, and a grandfather are brought together is a rarity in today's culture. This film is so moving, I spent several minutes (heck, probably half of the movie) in tears. Call me Mr. Sensitive, but hey, I love a good story about love and family. In addition, the jockey in the film (a young hispanic man who starred in HBO's 6 Feet Under) brings faith into it, saying "God bless you" to Dakota's character (and she didn't even sneeze) and making the sign of the cross (in a respectful way rather than the stupid disrespectful way that so many in UnHolywood do) before the big race.
My kind of film: Family, Love, and Faith. It's got it all.
:thumbsup2: :thumbsup2:
