View Full Version : Cookie monster now VEGGIE monster?!
Say it isn't so!! Someone tell me this is a hoax and be right! How can the old "C is for Cookie" Cookie monster be converted to "Veggie monster"! It's sacrelig I tell you!
I typed "Cookie monster Veggie monster" into Google just to check it out and there are tons of petitions out there to save the "Cookie monster".
This is just going too far, next thing you know Oscar will take classes in public relations!
What a bummer...

Amie,
this is slightly off subject, but you must have realized by now that there are elements of our society who wish to take away your right to eat whatever you desire to eat - whether or not it might or might not be good for you. As the "food police" have, in recent years, tried to scare people into not consuming eggs, apples, peanut butter, processed sugar, caffeine (note here that processed sugar and caffeine are two ingredients in CHOCOLATE), white flour, milk, and butter, read meat, ANY meat, tobacco, and alcohol, just to name a few. Cookies are evil in their opinion. Food, in their view, is NOT to be enjoyed - it is strictly for fuel for the body, and you certainly should not eat too much of it.
While it may be true that God does not want us to be gluttons (eating too much food, living to eat, etc.), according to Paul, God has given us all things richly to enjoy. That includes all these things that I have listed, and a whole lot more. A whole lot more.
Ed,
Actually I think that's EXACTLY on topic! I feel robbed! I don't want to encourage my future grandchildren to see "Cookie" stuff his face with carrots! The cookie thing was funny because, well, it would be fun for most kids and he could get away with it!
It is crazy how first "an apple a day keeps the doctor away" then it causes cancer because of the dreaded pesticide, and then "oops", "That hypothesis that we just told you was accurate was proven wrong".
My general rule of thumb is "all things in good measure". Have cake, ice cream, cookies, steak, hamburgers, pork chops, and whatever you want - just don't have a million of them! I think that's exactly your point.
I just felt that messing with a puppet was carrying their campaigne too far! Especially since he was one of my favorites when I was little..
Amie
