Just found out my neices husband, Luke; has cancer. Stage 4,they think is sarcoma. Family and Luke need prayer fo peace and healing. He is 27 years old with two children unde 4, and an adopted 14 year old with musculor dystrophy. thanks

Thot i'd give an update: They found out Luke has a form of sarcoma. Bad news is the Pet scan shows not only a softball size tumor in his stomach, but the cancer has spread to liver, spleen, and lymph nodes. He is undergoing intense chemotherapy. At a later date,he will undergo surgery to remove the tumor and any other tumors they can find. He seems to be holding up pretty well; but my sister is struggling with all of this. (her daughters husband). Anyway, would appreciate continued prayers. thanks

Luke to go into surgery May 15. Cancer has infiltrated his body badly. Surgery will be radical, taking rectum, intestines, possible stomach; microwaving liver. Please continue to uphold Luke and his family (especially wife, kids, and close relatives and friends) as things don't look good. thanks

Luke made it through surgery way sooner than expected. Doctors were able to keep his bowel and major organs. Liver was "microwaved". Expected stay in hospital less than original plan. YEAH. Still needs prayer. Thanks everyone.

What does "liver microwaved" mean?

Hi Amie, no i don't mind you sharing. Since surgery, Luke has now spiked a 102 fever, and either has pneumonia or nodules (cancer) in the lungs. So more trials.

Microwaved the liver I guess is literally that. there is a newer technology where they use microwaves on the liver, and it kills cancer. The bad part (limited understanding on my part) is that it also kills part of the liver; but the liver can regenerate.

Tonight, pet scan shows NO CANCER in Luke. Amazing. He still will undergo cancer tx (chemo and radiationn till Feb, and repeat Pet scan; but very good news. really a miracle so far. :clap2::biggrinbounce:

I talked to Luke this morning; at this time he doesn't want this news spread on facebook; but he is very thankful.

It sounds like a long hall still ahead, chemo till February; but according to Doctors; NO live cancer is in his body. WOW.
