Hello everyone,
My real name is Micah. I'm seventeen years old. Before last summer I'd felt very far away from God, I wasn't going to church because I knew enough to know that there had to be something *more* but I didn't know what that more was and I hadn't experienced it yet. Then last summer I read through Romans on my own for the first time. Actually I ended up reading Acts-Jude in a span of a week (maybe two, I can't remember). And that's when it finally clicked with me.
Before I read Romans that time, if I had heard of the baptism of the Holy Spirit, it was long ago and I had no memory of it. So when I read Romans, I finally understood, and although I had experienced God personally a little and even experienced prophecy, I consider that time to be when I was baptized by the Holy Spirit because I came so alive.
Since then I've had times where I sank back a bit, but overall I've still been climbing higher and higher. I'm now going to a church and although the people there don't quite get it yet I feel like I can be one to help them by being an example.
Overall, besides my own family, I feel very alone in how I understand the bible and the New Covenant. Ironically...the church I go to is called New Covenant Church, but...most of them still don't get it. When I found this forum, (I was reading an article on infinite-grace?) I immediately saw that you guys understand it just by how you guys interact with each other. While there are threads where ya'll discuss it and so it's obvious you get it, on topics that aren't specifically about the New Covenant I can still see it seeping through by the way you treat one another. I'm so excited to read through all the topics on here and contribute.
As for a more simplified "about me," I'm really into philosophy and psychology, specifically human social behavior and how past experiences affect how people see the world now. I'm an artist and philosopher all around heh. I dance (any kind of dance, from Israeli folk, hip-hop, break, ballroom, contemporary, and a dabble of Irish step), sing, draw, write (poetry, novels, short stories; most of which have some sort of philosophical and/or psychological depth), create music (piano, Irish tin whistle, and recently bought a violin which I'm quite excited about).
My persona is that of an INFJ of Jungian personality typology although ESTP (my anima) really wants to come out sometimes. =)
Above all that I do and come across as, nothing but this phrase can define me better: I am who I am.
Micah
P.S. I apologize for the length of my post. Can you tell I'm a writer? lol
