I wasn't sure where to post this but here seemed as good a place as any. As i have mentioned before i have a friend at my church whos very politically involved, especially in the peace movement which he says is protesting and seeking an end to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. He said he often hears from others he meets with that they are upset and angry with christians because they dont find any in the peace movement. I think this is too broad a brush but maybe within their own sphere of influence. My friend is always bringing this up during sunday school to challenge people as to why they dont get actively involved as he has done.

What would you say to him if you were in the class??? I am just seeking some thoughts that are outside the group in order not to have tunnelvision how to respond to him. I appreciate any thoughts anyone has to share thank you!!!

Robert how does he define peace? The US being in the middle east isn’t going to bring peace nor will us leaving bring peace.
It sounds to me as though he thinks he is in a superior position than others because of his belief. If getting out is all he has to offer he is no better than the ones that want to stay.

Lou has a good point imo.

Also, is it peaceful to impose your personal standards on others? I don't think so. In my view, the argument of "to war or not to war" is a distraction from gaining any real solutions for the very real problems that folks are dealing with.
