Hi,
Just wondering if any of you have any good things to say or have grown through watching TV Evangelists? I get so upset some days, scanning through the cable channels and watching people falling to the ground. Mostly I just keep going. But it does bother me that So many put there hope and money into these types of "Christian" programing.:(

Sure, many are scam artists. But instead of getting upset, try to reframe it. They are not a problem...they are part of the pendulum swing.
Blessings,

Nancy,
I don't watch them. A couple of times I've run across Pat Robertson on TV. The only time I stayed to listen to him was when he was talking about diet, exercise, and supplementation, lol! :)
If I find myself being overcome with a negative feeling or getting really critical of what I'm hearing; I find that distancing myself is helpful, so that is what I do.

I don't watch them really. 25 years ago, though when I was up with sick babies, PTL club was going strong. I would sit and feed a baby and watch Tammy with her tears a flowing. I guess seeing them now even on the news, just brings back a time in my life that I think now was so fake in so many ways. I really am Glad I am moving (slow as a turtle at times) past all of that.

I saw some guy selling "holy water" that would cure people of problems. I thought how symbolic, ya know? How many people are out there peddling some type of "holy water" cure-all, religious or not? Some of them believe in their own cures. They must feel horrible deep down because on some level they must realize that they are not cured themselves.
I watched Tammy Faye on "Surreal Life" and saw a documentary on her life. I could be horribly nieve mind you, but I think she's sincere. I'm crazy enough to like her, lol!

Billy Graham was on Hardball the other night. They did a show about Religion in America and politics. He has been by the side of every president starting with Eisenhower. But in the end, Chris Mathews asked him who was God.
Billy Graham said, a loving, kind, merciful God. But...then he said, he also has Judgment. And he said that so strong I about fell out of my rocking chair.
His meaning, that those not saved will be judged. And you know the rest of the story.
I don't believe that anymore. Am I correct? I don't believe we are being judged by God. Will we still stand before the Throne of Judgment then when we die?
How can we be seated on the right hand of God already, if there is still a judgment?
Anyway, don't know if Billy Graham qualifies as a TV evangelist.
Nancy
IMO Judgement was at AD70. What I see is like the “prodigal son” a bringing to understand what we are missing and a welcoming home.

Hi Nancy, I have all the time in the world for Billy Graham, though of course I don't "quite" see things as he does, though once I did. Sure I beleive we'll all stand before God once we pass through death's veil -- and prasie God we'll have Jesus there as our advocate -- for some this will be their first realisation of this -- no wonder "every tongue will confess..." :clap2:

Davo do you think "tongue" could mean non-Israel?

This was kind of funny. Last night I was scanning through the cable channels to get to the TV guide channel and my scanner stopped on a TV evangelist. I was like, what... Then he yells out, When Jesus comes back, (so I thought I would listen to what he had to say) Starts yelling some more and says, the first thing he is going to do is get rid of the Internet!!
I was like, oh no.... How will I keep in touch with you guys.:)
So, do we have a back up plan:eek:
