Seems as humans we have a built-in mechanism to be right and to want to know and have the truth. As this forum shows, we all have so many variances and differences in our thoughts, feelings, actions and more. A very good thing for it created an amazing quilt of personalities who all blend into a great design. We all share our opinions on here, and we do seek to persuade or challenge one another as well as to explore and encourage amongst other things. I seek to be a grace-conscious and peaceseeking person, most of the time lol I am fine with people of all diverse backgrounds and seek to know them and engage them in a loving manner, again, try to usually lol

I come across many people, as i am sure all you do as well, who are intent on finding THE truth and declaring that to others as something we all should aspire to. They would quote Jesus saying, *you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free* A sticking point for me is those who hold to this usually appear to be so dogmatic and judgmental and treat truth like a trophy to be won and held as in a competition. I just wonder about this. Living love means total acceptance right??? As devils advocate yet again, I can hear them saying, *if your gonna be saved better have sonethiung to be saved from* Or,* no need for evangelism and making converts if there is nothing to convert to* They would also probably say there are those who are seeking love and those who arent. Just wanted to hear ya'll- as Amie says hehe, chime in some of your thoughts??? I know alot of this has been mentioned in various ways over the years but heck, just wanted to ask it in a different way.

Robert, you hit the nail on the head...The ego needs to be right. Personally, I think it is because we equated "being right" with "being acceptable" and "worthy of love."

Hi Robert,
I agree with so much of what you have said. In the past few years I have tried harder to be more Grace Conscious. My fundamental friends still don't understand where I am at on my journey. I got the lecture just last night about not being in a church and assembling with others. I said I was in Bagel church and assembling with lots of people :) At first my feelings were a little hurt by the chastising. But I really understood where this long time friend of mine was coming from. And my prayer for her is that one day she walks out of Bondage and into freedom.
Blessings.

Unless you see "total acceptance" as personal salvation from a personal hell, ie:

my prayer for her is that one day she walks out of Bondage and into freedom.

Nancy- hey my friend!!! Thanks for sharing. You raise a point I have made a few different times on here. I wish more of those who hold to *traditional or fundamental frameworks* of belief would come read and post here so that they could see what paige said, being accepted and loved does NOT have to rely on being right. When i say i want them to come on here, I am NOT saying to debate and challenge and that kind of thing. I am saying to be open, exchange thoughts, seek understanding and have an attitude of love. I am still actively invloved in ministry amongst people who are more fundie/traditional, and the majority ARE loving, caring, decent people. They just are holding to a lens of seeing reality in a very certain way. All of us here had to make out way to our current place of being right???

Paige- thanks for all you said :D

Laren- great to see you brother!!!
