I have yet to see a strict interpretation of capitalism that could work globally. For example, I've lived on 5 different Islands. Simply put they cannot compete on an equal basis. The natural resources are not present. They cannot put a million pig farm there. Guadeloupe cannot compete in sugarcane with Brazil.
What are your thoughts?

first of all, let me say that in today's reality, there is a difference between capitalism and free enterprise. Free enterprise works...everywhere...in every culture and every economic system (even socialist France allows free enterprise for an hour or two a day, and boy do the folks make money). In regards to people having natural resources, etc. I wrote an article on Facebook. I'll post the link here if anyone cares to read it. I think it's good...but I'm biased. LOL

If we had real free market captialism it would make a differance but we have cronney caplalism. The real problem is the debt. The day that Bush and Paulson got on TV and said the world would end if the banks weren't bailed out right then was brought on by that $500,000,000,000.00 was pulled out of US banks all at once. I have spent some time trying to think who could done that. My first conclusion was that it was a soverign nation. The problem was the nations that had the ability to do that would be harmed also. Then it occured to me that all transactions over $10,000.00 are tracted. Why haven't the one that did that been named? It had to go through the Federal Reserve. Now bact to the debt. Almost every country is in trouble with their debt. To who is this debt owed? I know that about half of the US debt is held in T-bills and such and more and more of those are held by the Federal Reserve. Were dose the Federal Reserve get its money to buy these bills? Since I know more about the inter workings of the CIA than the Fed I will speculate, they just make it up by changing the numbers on a data base. I also know that the Fed loans money to the European Central bank, World Bank, IMF, Bank of Central Asia, and other central international banks I have not heard of. I suspect that they are all loaning made up money to each other. The problem they have now is like useing credit cards to pay other credit cards at some time that game will collapse. I believe we are at that time now and it is going to fall on us and they will control all the wealth.
