Maybe you have an interest you want to share or talk about.

My interest is building speakers. I like listening to music.
While harder rock has always been a main staple of mine what has caught my ear lately is Evanescence and Rihanna. I like Rihanna's first album "Music of the sun" a lot. She is (I think) from Barbados.
Since my wife Dominique is from Guadeloupe Island and having lived there twice, I really like the touch of the Island sound.

Hope to have a speaker building busyness up and running within 1 year. Working on the prototypes now. These are mostly larger horn designs for large rooms and commercial applications.

Would like to here about the interests of others.

Good topic Barry! In regards to music I enjoy most rock except for oldies, metal and classic. My favorite rock band currently is 30 Seconds to Mars and based on the style and bands you mentioned you may really like them also. They are not a Christian band though. I also really like trance artists like Paul Van Dyk and DJ Tiesto but I've very picky about this genre because a lot of trance can be annoying. Other then these genres I don't like much else except a little jazz, classical, and new age.

I like spending time with my wife. We seldom watch TV...we don't have cable and only use our TV when we rent DVDs. We do like to have family or friends over to play board games or talk.

I also like to do outdoor activities such as playing disc golf, walking, road trips, and downhill snow skiing when the opportunity arises.

I enjoy lifting weights which I've been doing on and off for a little over a year now but lately I'm becoming discouraged because I have not been putting on much muscle.

College has been keeping me quite busy. I enjoy learning and studying. I also like working on techniques to improve my memory.

Well so far so good!
I might have my first bona fide working prototype horn loaded "top" or "satellite" (IE takes a subwoofer).
The LM-135 (loud mouth, as horns have a throat which is the beginning and a larger mouth which is the exit of the horn, 135 is the 135Hz cut off where the woofer or subwoofer takes over). LOL ROFL!

The eight inch PA speaker is mounted into a reverse horn. Meaning that the speaker points to the back and then the sound is turned around in the horn and then point to the front where the sound comes out.
It goes from 135Hz to 3200 Hz maybe a bit higher. That is four and a half octaves!
It is a very complicated turning of the sound inside the horn which I won't speak of in public. For that is the problem that everyone faces who would turn the sound. Turning the sound inevitably reduces the upper frequencies and so this was one of the barriers to overcome.
The size is 26" wide. 17" high and 17" deep.
The horn length is 25" from the speaker to the end of the horn permitting a cut off of 135Hz to the subwoffer. Horn length relates to how low a note it will produce in the horn.

It is very loud. It is capable of about 128db at one meter. About 105 to 106 db with one watt.
I'm working on a smaller model that will use a 6 1/2 " woofer.
It will keep up with the renowned Klipsch classic speakers for surround sound. It will go down to 170Hz (just low enough for a subwoofer).
Since they are half the width in the back they fit quite nicely into corners.
When put into a corner the larger one can be crossed over to the woofer at 100Hz because the horn thinks that the walls are extending the mouth making it a bit longer.

I am very excited.
DJs, churches, dance halls, clubs, musicians and homes that what to blow out there windows.

I need to design a horn loaded sub soon.

When at my best, I build my speakers with the Lord. Not that this helps with ideas or inspiration or anything like that. Only that it is as good as going for a walk with the Lord.
In these moments it doesn't matter if the speaker works the way I'd like or not. After all it takes many trials to find something that works. There are 50 horns behind this horn.

Building speakers with the Lord. It's really cool!!
We talk a lot but I do most of the talking. But you already guessed that LOL!

I hesitated responding to this one because I've worried I'm not hip enough. :-)

Seriously, here's what I do for fun:

1. I enjoy turning Dispensationalists' Theology on its ear.
2. I enjoy writing suspense fiction. Not horror. Suspense.
3. I enjoy picking songs for the worship team that inadvertently teach Preterism while not ruffling a single Dispie feather in the process.
4. I enjoy playing head-to-head with my son on our twin Nintendo DSs.
5. I enjoy most types of music between Mozart and Metallica. My iPod has 4500 songs on it.
6. I follow the show 24 like it's a religion going so far as to rename it the Jack Bauer Power Hour.
7. I teach Information Technology classes at a community center. Yes, I list my job under things I do for fun. It's a great place to be in life.
8. I play keyboard and guitar and occasionally lead worship in our church (see #3 above).
