This is how I am currently realizing redemption.

~Realized Redemption~

Realize:

To comprehend; to understand, take in and know. To see with the eyes of faith – with the eyes of the spirit – what has been established through the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, of yesterday, today, and forever...

This ministry of the Word (Acts 6:4), Spirit (2 Cor 3:8), Righteousness (2 Cor 3:9), Reconciliation (2 Cor 5:18) – a more excellent ministry (Heb 8:6), was a guarantee of a better Covenant to the first century saints, and is also living strong in fulfillment among the people who love Him to this very day – because He holds His priesthood permanently (Heb 7:24) in a New Covenant Kingdom without end (Lk 1:32).

Blessed are your eyes, because they see; and your ears, because they hear.
Matthew 13:16

Redemption:

Recovery [to purchase back “home” (found: face-to-face/presence) & quicken] of a captive [sin-bound humanity] that had been lost [dead in sin/sin-death (veiled-face/absence)] by the payment of a ransom [Jesus, the Lamb of God] for the release [deliverance/salvation from sin-death] of the captive, thus reestablishing [regeneration & renewing] a harmonious [peaceful] relationship [bond/marriage] between God and His creation [atonement/reconciliation].

Imagine for a moment a Covenental level and an Individual level: The Covenental level transcends, and therefore determines the Individual level. The Covenental level does not have to “realize” redemption, but the individual does have the capacity to realize it. Realizing redemption does not produce redemption, for by realizing we see what has been accomplished through Christ. We see with the eyes of the spirit. By faith the Individual level is face-to-face with the Covenental level.

Realize redemption, and realize the levels dissolve and that we are truly all on one level together. Standing firm on Resurrection ground, this level - here and now - we are all in this together. Together In Christ.

Dano,

Your clarity is awe-inspiring. This is good enough to be an anthem :)

"Realizing redemption does not produce redemption".. In my experience, it produced personal salvation.

Dano,

Here here! I have to agree with Amie. That was awe-inspiring and so uplifting. Thank you for blessing us all with those thoughts! :clap2:

I've got some more thoughts on along the lines you brought up, Dano:

First off, scripture says that "nevertheless, death reigned from Adam to Moses." What I find interesting is that death reigned over the Gentiles all the while they didn't "realize" it. I feel that God revealed to Israel the corporate state of humanity. The Gentiles failure to realize that mankind was fallen, did not negate the state they were in.

That be the case, it is easy to make the connection that mankind can also be corporately redeemed, and therefore restored to God's presence w/o having knowledge that it has occurred.

The Covenental level transcends, and therefore determines the Individual level.

I think that just has to repeated and continually emphasized until we "get it".

Absolutely, good point. Both Jews and Gentiles were both under sin. You could even see these as two corporate groups; the Jew and the Gentile. (Two, nevertheless, both dead). Ephesians 2 is a goodie...

11 Therefore remember that formerly you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by the so-called Circumcision, which is performed in the flesh by human hands-- 12 remember that you were at that time separate from Christ, excluded from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who formerly were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. 14 For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into ONE and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall, 15 by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might make the two into ONE new man, thus establishing peace, 16 and might reconcile them both in ONE body to God through the cross, by it having put to death the enmity.

These was even a wall dividing the court of the Gentiles and the court of the Jews in the Jewish temple. Its destruction (outwardly), we know, was symbolic and true and so rich in meaning. Ozark has some really neat articles on this.

The realization; One New Man
