View Full Version : Abortion Law?
I heard something about an abortion law passing, but nothing other than that. Oh well, other than the arguing over which representative is on which side, the complaining that Bush has turned the tide, yadda yadda yadda. What I want to know is -- what is the new law??????
Anyone know where I might read about it?

Amie,
The supreme court voted 5/4 to uphold the ban on partial birth abortion.
Here is a quote from the article in our newspaper today:
"The administration defended the law as drawing a bright line between abortion and infanticide."
Paige,
That's what I thought, thank you. I don't agree with partial-birth abortion personally, but I don't know of a situation calling for it. In my experience, women that I've known made that decision early on. I'm totally ignorant as to why the choice would be delayed.
I know though that the youngest premature born infant to live was just over 21 weeks. I personally couldn't say in good conscience that especially that far along, that it's "my body" - I would feel that I was sharing it.
I know that they're making a big deal out of there being no medical exceptions, but that's medical exceptions for abortion. If a woman's life were in danger, she would go in for an emergency c-section. The difference would be the physicians' efforts at saving the baby also.

Yes, I agree. From what I read, congress provided plenty of evidence that this procedure has never been needed to save a life. IOW, we have better ways of doing that.
From what I've seen of the procedure, there is no other description for it other than infanticide.
