I wasn't sure where this post should go. So if it needs to move, please do so.
I read a long article at Bagel Church today about what the Catholic church use to call Limbo. I had never heard of this before. Apparently, if a baby died before being baptized it went to Limbo?
I had two miscarriages many years ago and the Doctors I had were Catholic. After I miscarried they immediately took the baby to the sick and baptized it. I can vaguely remember saying thats OK, you don't need to do that. But I knew it was a kind gesture on their part.
So is there really any proof in the bible of a place called Limbo?
All I could think of was that place called Abraham's Bosom?? Where the saints waited under the OC until they were resurrected.

Thanks for any input

Nancy,

I linked to an article that I think touches on this topic a great deal. I don't believe scripture supports "Limbo." If you read Jeremy Lyle's article, he pretty well lays out what info we can find in scripture.

Here is the link:

It is very thorough, so it may take a while to get all the way through.

Ha!!
Bagel church is where I have gone every day since leaving organized church 2 years ago. Its really Einstein Bagels. I seriously, go everyday. We have met such wonderful people.
All of my friends know we call it Bagel church.
For example, Easter Sunday was great. All of the friends we have met in the last 2 years were there and we all sat at this table that held 14 people. Those that went to church shared their message, others talked about the day, and what they were doing.
It a place about relationship, friendships and just being who you are.
Best church I have ever gone to.
Blessings.

Nancy,

I think that the story of Abraham and Lazarus is a parable. Abraham's bosom represents those being gathered to faith, while Moses' bosom is mentioned in Numbers 11:12.
