I have been studying on the Greek and Hebrew quite a bit lately and from what I gather of most translations today, they still have a ways to go.
Curiously the word "'adam" is used often in Ezekiel when "Son of Man" is used, which the Apostle Paul used in his epistles as both a New Adam and Old Adam.
This event in Ezekiel 39 appears to resemble a Levitical type sacrifice, where the animal is slaughtered then roasted on the Fire.
Still working on this as some Hebrew words are rather difficult to translate sometimes. I like to copy the hebrew/greek word for word from and interlinear then use concordances/lexicons to determing the most accurate words to use. Pretty fascinating. Thoughts?

Ezekiel 39:17 " And as for you, son of 'adam, thus says 'Adonay Y@hovih, 'Speak to every sort of winged bird and to every life/chay of the field/sadeh: "Assemble yourselves and come; Gather together from all sides to My Sacrificial-Mealzebach which I am slaughtering/zabach for you, A great Sacrificial-Meal/zebach on the mountains/har of Yisra'el, That you may eat/'akal flesh/basar and drink blood".
Reve 19:17 And I perceived one messenger standing in the sun, and he cries in great sound saying to all the birds, the ones flying in the mid heaven,: "Hither! be ye being gathered! into the Supper, the Great, of the God. 18 That Ye may be eating/faghte flesh/sarkaV <4561> of kings and flesh/sarkaV <4561> of captains"..............
Reve 20:9 They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And Fire came down from God out of heaven and Down-eat/katefagen <2719> them.
