My local public broadcast station ran "Jim Fay: Love and Logic" last night (March 6th, '06) and will be running it again this month. I absolutely loved it!
One of my favorites that he discussed was how to use not having an immediate consequence, as a consequence. I understood him to say that parents could say (to a child who is late for curfew) "Why don't you just go to bed and get some rest? We'll leave this for another time, TRY not to worry." The power word is "try", lol.. The child might react "But what's going to happen?" to which you can reply reassuringly "You worry too much dear, just TRY and get some rest."
haha, too cute. I don't know that my description really does his words justice. Here's the link to find out when it is showing in your area, and more info on it: http://www.loveandlogic.com/pages/pbs.html
